Personal Message from Shannon Robnett:
This message comes after much deliberation, soul searching and a final understanding that there really is no good and perfect answer to the situation our world is facing right now. Out of respect for everyone and more importantly the safety of not only our participants but those in our community we are canceling our Invest Idaho LIve event October 8th and 9th.
As many of you know the medical system in Idaho has been pushed to the breaking point and this has left us all with something to ponder. While I truly do believe in the freedoms given to us by our founding fathers, please understand I am choosing to exercise mine right now to protect the vulnerable in my community, and not bringing in 200+ people from out of state for an event. I do not know for certain, nor am I arrogant enough to think that my opinion is 100% based in facts and therefore completely right, but I have to make the decision that feels right.
I am tired of hearing about the "other side" and how they are somehow misinformed and ignorant to the world around them. What I know is that every action has an equal and opposite reaction, and I want to be cognizant of what the downstream effect of my decisions are to my community and fellow Idahoans.
You see, we are simply trying to put on an event that builds the investor community in and around Idaho, and ultimately promotes knowledge. There is no end game here, no paid speakers and no goals other than community growth. We are not selling an experience or a class or even a mentorship. We are simply looking to engage in a community of investors.
With something as polarizing as the current political climate and the declared medical emergencies in Idaho, to continue with our event would fly in the face of the goal of unity and community building. So to that end we have decided that if we really want to be true to our core intentions then we can not allow our event to act in any way to divide our community and will be canceling the Invest Idaho event effective immediately.
Unfortunately this was always designed to be an in person event so there will be no pivot to Zoom, and many of you are thankful for that. Finally we hope that if you see yourself as a leader on social media or in your community, you will continue to use your platform to bring unity to your communities and those around you during this unprecedented time in history. Lets focus on remembering that deep down we are all human and have our own individual freedoms, ideas, loves and passions. Let's not forget that the person sitting next to you has those same things burning deep inside them also.
Much Love
Shannon & the SRI team
